Vulcanizing rubber

Vulcanizing rubber is the process of putting the rubber under pressure at a high temperature, creating an extremely strong bond that can only be broken by mechanical force. As a result, products such as gaskets or seals can be produced, for example. The vulcanization process creates an adhesion of molecules, which ensures that the rubber is transformed into a wear-resistant and flexible product.

Today, vulcanization is widely used in the production of, for example, gaskets, vibration dampers, rollers, seals and much more. Rubber is also often vulcanized to metal. The vulcanization process creates a very strong bond (connection) between the rubber and the steel.

Examples of vulcanized products are rubber rings, o-rings, rubber sleeves/gaskets and rubber strips.
